Rachel Nagelberg (she/they) is a somatic trauma practitioner in Los Angeles who works with individuals navigating the lasting effects of acute, chronic, or developmental trauma. Her practice, Somatic Healing Arts, is built on the understanding that trauma lives in the body—not just the mind—and that lasting healing requires working directly with the autonomic nervous system and the subcortical brain.
Rachel draws from Somatic Release Technique and PsychoNeuroEnergetics to guide clients through a slow, body-led process of unwinding protective patterns, releasing stored survival energy, and reconnecting with a deeper sense of self. In-person sessions involve gentle pressure on neurosomatic points to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system; virtual sessions use attunement and somatic mirroring to similar effect.
Her approach is especially well-suited for people who've tried talk therapy and found it wasn't enough—chronic overthinkers, perfectionists, those dealing with dissociation, emotional numbness, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Rachel works outside the conventional healthcare system by design, prioritizing community-rooted, trauma-informed care and offering sliding scale access to BIPOC clients.
