About Laila
Laila Aitken Ali is a Certified Divorce Coach® and Accredited Mediator based in Santa Monica who helps people navigate divorce, separation, and high-conflict relationships with clarity and calm. Her approach comes directly from lived experience — after her own decade-long divorce, she built a system that combines practical strategy with nervous system regulation so clients can make sound decisions even in the middle of emotional chaos.
Laila works with both women and men on communication skills, boundary-setting, co-parenting dynamics, and rebuilding self-trust. Sessions address how to respond to a difficult ex without escalating conflict, how to stop second-guessing every decision, and how to find solid footing after years of walking on eggshells.
She describes her work as "strategy meets self-regulation" — giving clients scripts, frameworks, and tools that hold up in the moments that count. She's also co-founded Split.fyi, a broader education and community platform for people at every stage of divorce.

What Clients Say
★★★★★
"I was also fortunate enough to have Laila on the receiving end of the phone throughout my divorce. She coached me through the process and always made me feel better about my situation. She had the ability to make me feel understood and held a very trusted space to help me understand what I needed out of the divorce. Laila is a woman of integrity and presence. She gives her time generously and she genuinely wants to help people through their problems. I would also say she is one of the best listeners I know."

★★★★★
"Laila was my rock in times when everything felt unstable. She gave me the support I needed to get me back on track, get through the negative process that divorce brings, and she helped me shine through to the end. It takes a village to get through a divorce and Laila helped me create that village and made sure I was looking after myself along the way."

"I felt like I finally had a plan after speaking to Laila. My family and friends have been supportive but they were as angry and as worried as I was, which in return kept me too worried to take the next steps I needed to make. With Laila's guidance and Split.fyi's community support I was able to gain clarity and create a direction that I was comfortable with."

★★★★★
"Before I coached with Laila I felt confused, very emotional and overwhelmed with just the thought of getting a divorce. I didn't know if I should stay or go and both felt like horrible options. I was overthinking and overeating and I didn't feel good about myself. After three sessions with Laila I felt a new clarity around my decision making process. I started believing in what I wanted — not what others expected of me. I chose to get divorced and had a step by step action plan of what to do next. I trust my decision is the right one for me. Now I'm sleeping better and back on track to healthier diet lifestyle choices."

★★★★★
"I'd lost myself in my marriage and wasn't sure who I was or what I wanted anymore. I didn't know that until my husband decided to end our marriage. It was a shock to my system. I had no idea how fragile I was until I had to face the divorce and didn't know what to do next. I booked some time with Laila and we worked on my confidence, authentic choices and finding my voice again. I learnt how to lead with integrity throughout my divorce process. I wouldn't have been able to rebuild my life without her support."

★★★★★
"My divorce is finalized but like anyone who has kids, the relationship with my ex has to continue. I didn't trust anything I wanted to say because I was scared it would cause world war three. Laila gave me a communication strategy not just for dealing with my ex, but the lawyers, mediators, friends and family. Even my kids have benefited from my new communication style. I went for divorce support, and what I found was myself."
