About Kara
Kara Francis is a relationship and divorce coach based in New York City who works with clients across the country. She spent nearly a decade as a family law attorney — practicing in Chicago, handling litigation, mediation, and collaborative divorce cases — before pivoting to coaching in 2022, after going through her own divorce in 2020.
Her work is especially suited to women who've lost themselves in relationships, caregiving, or the accumulated demands of life. She works with clients at every stage: preparing for marriage, feeling stuck or misaligned in a current relationship, or navigating divorce. The thread through all of it is helping people reconnect with their own truth — what they actually want, what patterns are running the show, and what a life built around their own values actually looks like.
Kara's legal background gives her coaching a practical edge most coaches don't have. She understands the divorce process inside and out, which helps clients ask better questions of their lawyers while working through the emotional and identity-level challenges that legal counsel can't touch.
