Elyse Scott is a somatic therapist based in Titirangi, Auckland, offering nervous system–focused, trauma-informed therapy in-person and online. Her approach is grounded in Embodied Processing and Somatic Movement Education in the tradition of Thomas Hanna — work that attends not just to words, but to the subtle language of breath, posture, gesture, and tone.
Having lived with the effects of developmental trauma herself, Elyse brings deep personal understanding to the work. She knows what it's like to have clear intellectual insight into your patterns while still feeling stuck, tense, or disconnected in the body. That lived experience shapes how she holds sessions — with steadiness, curiosity, and real patience for the nervous system's own timing.
In sessions, Elyse guides clients toward interoception — the ability to feel and trust internal body signals — as a foundation for settling out of high-alert states and relational anxiety. The work unfolds gently over time, supporting the nervous system to release what it has been holding and move toward a renewed sense of presence, creativity, and ease.
