"My son, Evan, started experience acne around age 11 (he is now 13). We first tried OTC treatments, and when Evan's skin did not respond we went to a Dermatologist. We tried topical Rx creams, and finally Doxycycline along with topical Rx creams. The Doxycycline seemed to help some, but I didn't want to keep Evan on a heavy-duty antibiotic for months.
